Reserving Your .UK Domain Name

10 April 2014

Siobhan Hancock

Siobhan here on the sales team 🙂 I’ve had a lot of enquiries about how to reserve your .uk domain, so I’m posting this to settle any concerns our customers may have.

The .uk domain will be publicly available from the 10th June 2014 to buy. Please don’t panic and think you need to reserve the domain right now before someone else buys it. If you already own the .co.uk domain then you have automatically reserved the .uk domain. The .uk is reserved for you and no-one else can buy it for a period of 5 years. If you do not buy it within this time your .uk domain will be made publicly available to buy on the 10th June 2019.

To all customers, fear not. By reserving the .co.uk domain name, the .uk domain name is automatically reserved as yours to purchase or let lapse within the 5 year window. For example 34SP.com also has the domain name ’34sp.co.uk’, therefore, we can automatically buy ’34sp.uk’, if we don’t want it, no-one else can buy it until 10th June 2019 without our say so. 🙂

To Access more detailed information on the .uk launch please visit: http://www.dotuklaunch.co.uk/dates-and-definitions.

If you would like to buy the .co.uk version of your website please visit https://www.34sp.com/domain-names All .co.uk domains are just £10 for 2 years.
