Core web vitals delayed little longer

Writing on their blog this week, Google have given a brief moment of respite to stressed website owners. Google confirmed:

We’ll begin using page experience as part of our ranking systems beginning in mid-June 2021. However, page experience won’t play its full role as part of those systems until the end of August. You can think of it as if you’re adding a flavoring to a food you’re preparing. Rather than add the flavor all at once into the mix, we’ll be slowly adding it all over this time period.

That means if you haven’t heard about CWV yet, or are still working out how to improve your website speed, you’ve got plenty of time; and again the changes will be gradual, not massive and immediate. Here’s some more reading on Core Web Vitals from our recent blog posts:

    We need https/2 as soon as — PLEASE!!
