If you have a domain name registered with another domain registrar that you would like to transfer to, please use the following guide. If you want to transfer a domain ending in '.uk', please read 'How to transfer a .uk domain name to'.

Before starting a domain transfer please ensure that the domain name has not expired, or is not expiring within the next 28 days.

Step 1

Check your whois information

Before starting your domain transfer, we recommend you check the details of your domain registration using our whois lookup page. Simply enter the domain you wish to transfer into, and click on the search icon.

This will return a page of information about your domain name registration. Double check that the domain is not set to expire within the next 28 days. If you domain is set to expire within that period, we do not recommend you continue with the transfer.

We also recommend checking the administrator contact address on your domain. If the contact address is out of date, we advise updating it. If the domain has whois protection on it, we advise disabling it before beginning the transfer.

Step 2

Initiate Transfer

Before your domain can be transferred to, you will need to prepare your domain for transfer. This involves either unlocking the domain prior to transfer and/or obtaining an EEP code from your current domain name registrar. This process needs to be completed for the following domain types.

  • .com
  • .net
  • .org
  • .biz
  • .info

Please note: Usually these steps can be done via your domain registrar's control panel, although in some cases you may be required to contact them directly.

Begin Transfer

Once the above steps are complete, you are ready to being being transferring your domain into Simply fill in the form on our domain transfer page.

Once the form has been filled in, click the button labelled 'Transfer Domain' and the transfer will be added to your basket. Follow the on screen instructions to complete this process.

Please note: Many domain transfers are chargeable, however every paid transfer in will also extend the domain registration for 1 year.

Step 4

Enter Your EPP Code

When transferring certain domains (for example .com, .net, .org, .biz etc), you are required to enter your EPP code, which will be provided by your current domain registrar. Simply and enter your EPP code into the form provided.

When this step is complete, your domain transfer will take 5-7 days to complete.
