34SP.com staff attend WordCamp Edinburgh

24 November 2015

Siobhan Hancock

34SP.com was proud to recently sponsor WordCamp Edinburgh.  6 members of our staff attended the event to meet the Edinburgh WordPress community and showcase our WordPress hosting platform.

If you want to learn about WordPress and get involved with the WordPress community, WordCamps have talks on lots of topics, this time including image optimisation, the REST API, SEO, website design, WordPress themes, plugins and images.

The events always have a warm, friendly atmosphere and this year’s WordCamp Edinburgh was no exception. We met some new faces and had the pleasure of seeing familiar Manchester faces too!  34SP.com see the importance of WordCamp events and we enjoy them which is why we are happy to sponsor local WordCamps. It truly is the best place to meet people and encourage the WordPress brand.

WordCamp Edinburgh saw talks from Tim Nash, ‘Will the REST API change the world?’ to Valerie Adler on SEO ‘Your WP website? It’s not for you.’ at the beautiful Skyscanner HQ building in the heart of Edinburgh. In direct contrast to the brisk Scottish weather outside, we experienced a warm relaxed atmosphere indoors and enjoyed the ever so relevant lunch of ‘Haggis, neeps and tatties.’

Of course no WordCamp is complete without the after party! You always get the chance to have drinks and chat to the lovely organisers of your local WordCamp.

Make sure you keep up to date with your local WordPress User groups and attend a WordCamp. There will always be one close to you and the chances are you will get to meet 34SP.com staff there too! To name a few of the upcoming 2016 WordCamp events:

  • 34SP.com hometown of Manchester
  • London (March)
  • Leeds (February)
  • Sheffield (February/March)
  • Bristol (September)
  • Shropshire
  • Birmingham
  • Brighton (July)
  • Edinburgh

More details to be announced by the WordPress community, but we’ll keep our ears and eyes peeled. We love meeting WordPress users and we also love to meet our customers, so hopefully we’ll see you at a WordCamp soon – come and say hello!
