Helen Bee is one half of B Double E, a husband and wife team running a voiceover artist business. With a background in branding and websites, Helen works to support artists from all over the world to get found (and stand out!) online.

Helping voiceovers to be seen and heard
Alongside Helen is Rob, the audio production and technical half of B Double E. Together they’re supporting voiceover artists by giving them the skills and confidence to take on voiceover work as varied as animation and gaming to phone systems and movie and tv dubbing. For Rob and Helen it’s about supporting people to win more work and build sustainable careers.
Whilst the business is fundamentally a digital one, they’ve fostered a highly engaged community running dozens of events each year, with many of these in person across the UK and Europe. The digital events are truly global with regular attendees from Canada to Australia and everywhere in between.
Originally working in web design for marketing agencies, Helen fell into freelancing in and around Manchester and she says she “found” the world of voiceovers. She says “Rob was already helping people as an audio engineer and I started getting asked about helping his clients with digital visibility and getting found online”. And so B Double E started.
Tackling a digital divide
“Many of our clients are focused on their voiceover work and don’t have a background in marketing, brand, web design, or anything digital. As a result, many people I work with can get nervous about the technical aspects of running a digital presence and getting a website set up. It has, and continues to be, a huge part of what I help our clients to develop. This extends to hosting, emails and web design and this has given me a lot of experience in dealing with all sorts of different providers and software”.
