How to setup email in Outlook Express
First of all you need to open the mail program and then select the "Tools" option. From this menu select the "Accounts" option. This allows you to set-up and configure your mail accounts.
Adding a new mail account
This menu gives you an overview of all your mail/news/directory accounts already created. You can see this user already has 5 accounts created. You need to select the "Add" option from the top right of the menu and then "Mail..."
Select your name
You now need to select the name you want people to see when they receive email from you. What you enter here, is what they will see when you send them mail.
Select your reply address
You now need to select email address you want people to reply to when they hit reply to emails sent through this account. Most people choose the email address they are sending from. For example: if your email address is email@example.com, you will most likely want the reply address to be firstname.lastname@example.org
Select your mail servers
There are two server addresses you must complete, one for incoming mail and one for outgoing mail.
On standard 34SP.com accounts we only provide the incoming server. In the incoming mail server field, you need to enter: mail.yoursitename, so if your address is me.com you need to use mail.me.com
For the SMTP server you should consult your ISP (the company who provides your Internet connection). Most ISP's provide an SMTP server of the form: smtp.ispname or mail.ispname. If they cannot provide you with this, we can offer SMTP as an upgrade.
Now you need to enter the username and password for your mail account. Your username should be the email address you are trying to access. So to receive email for email@example.com your username would be firstname.lastname@example.org.
Simply select finish and you are now all ready to receive your email through outlook.
